I’ve created this account for everyone who is looking to go and abuse the person who posted their opinion on a reblogged post about someone’s rape experience. I am not the one who'd originally posted the inappropriate comment.
In no way do I personally think that victims are to be blamed, and from what I had read, neither did the previous owner of this blog. I’m not them, so I can’t exactly say what they were thinking, but either way, I do know that the replies to their reblog were absolutely terrible.
Even if they HAD been completely blaming the victim, in no way is it appropriate to tell that individual to kill themselves, or anything of the sort. This kind of behavior is terrible and needs to be stopped.
Instead, opinions should be expressed intelligently and with valid argument. If you’re trying to change someone’s opinion toward any matter, calling them rude names and asking them to commit suicide are NEVER ways to go about doing that.
I would like to say again that the comment posted WAS not okay to be said to someone who was just being brave enough to tell their story. However, this blog wasn't created to reiterate that. Just because someone is wrong in their ways, doesn't mean that it gives anyone the right to do the same thing back to them. Our goal should be to help people see how they can change for the better, instead of just fueling the argument's fire.
